Internal Research Conversation Workshop on Smart Low-carbon Communities Project in HK | 2 Jul 2021

Asian Energy Studies Centre and David C. Lam Institute for East-West Studies organised an Internal Research Conversation Workshop which kick-started the 3-year HK$ 4 million Research Impact Fund (RIF) Project on Smart Low-carbon Communities Project in Hong Kong on 2 July 2021. This mixed-mode workshop provided a discussion platform for the international and multi-disciplinary research consortium of a total of 30 team members to discover and develop the RIF project; drive research conversation of collaborators from diverse disciplines; and define the scope of research analysis through the Asian Low Carbon Cities-Universities Network.



In the opening remarks, Prof. GUO Yike, Vice-President (Research & Development) and Professor, Department of Computer Science appreciated the Research Impact Fund project led by Dr. MAH Ngar Yin, Daphne as an exemplary example of HKBU’s Smart Society Lab projects. HKBU’s Smart Society Lab is the first Smart Society hub in Asia and contributes to cutting-edge research in society’s future organisational structure, operation and development mode.



Session chairs and 15 presenters defined the scope of research analysis through the Asian Low Carbon Cities-Universities Network.



Session chairs and workshop participants continued to exchange their views during tea break and luncheon.
